Robyn Ft. The Knife - "Who's That Girl"
The Knife are one of our favorites here and their trademark synth sounds are all over this track. We could go without the Robyn and just listen to the instrumental all day long.

New Music Video - Kanye West "Homecoming"
We get a new music video about once a month from Kanye and usually they're a little though provoking or bring us something new visually that we hadn't seen. The Video for "Homecoming" however is a mix between Common's "The Corner" video and an Ipod commercial. Lot's of Chicago landmarks and tall corner shots mixed with Chris Martin's silhouette dancing, singing and playing piano. We love the song but we've seen this type of video before. Also whats with the shot at the end where Kanye has a gangster posse following him through the streets of Chicago.

New Music Video - M.I.A. -"Paper Planes"
We've had this track on repeat around the office for a little over a month now. it's one of the reasons we've got Kala as one of our favorite albums this year. The video is the first shot in America and features a short cameo from the Beasties. Apparently there was a little trouble making it for Maya and she wrote her fans a letter about it. you can read that after the video.

2, SO THAT WAS THAT! I NEVER MADE A VIDEO IN AMERICA AND HEY ITS STILL A PART OF WHAT I DO AND SAY, ITS WAS STILL VALID, SO I WAS READY TO ROLL WITH IT.
3, YOU ALL KNOW HOW THE SONG SOUNDS, THATS WHY WHEN U GO ON YOUTUBE 400, 000 PEOPLE WOULD RATHER LISTEN THE SONG AS IT IS AND STARE AT SOME PICTURE THEN TO ACTUALLY WATCH A VIDEO
4, WHEN LETTERMAN CENSORD ME IT WAS WAC OF COURSE!!!!!! , AND YES I FELT SOOOOOO BAD FOR WHAT THEY DID TO MY SOUND. I WAS ABEL TO SOUND CHECK FOR THAT SHOW AND THEY LET ME SOUND CHECK FINE, THEN ON THE ACTUAL TAPING MY SOUND WAS SOOO DIFFERENT FROM WHAT ID AGREED, AS SOON AS I OPENED MY MOUTH THE DIFFERENCE BLEW ME AWAY, I FELT I WAS GETTING BULLIED ON NATIONAL TELEVISON, AND I COULDNT EVEN REACH OUT TO MY LABELS OR MY MANAGEMENT TO HELP, SINCE THEY ARE NEW TO WHAT HAPPENS TO AN ARTIST LIKE ME IN MAINSTEAM AMERICAN CULTURE.
SO THEY TRIED TO SHUT ME DOWN AGAIN. I MADE THE PAPER PLANES VIDEO. I MADE IT HOW THEY WANTED. NO VIOLENCE. AMBIGUOUS. MTV - FRIENDLY. NOW TODAY, I CHECK YOUTUBE AND SEE THE LEAKED MTV PAPER PLANES VIDEO UP FOR THE FIRST TIME. I CLICKED ON IT AND OUT COMES THIS FUCKED UP MESS WITH DOUBLE-TRACKED BULLSHIT MESS
WHO THE THE FUCK IS DOING THIS TO ME?????
THE VIDEO WAS SABOTAGED FOR WHATEVER REASON AND IM DISAPPOINTED THAT MTV HAS HAD SUCH A MAJOR ROLE IN THIS. THE BLOGGERS WHO ARE LAZY ENOUGH TO FOLLOW THE MTV LINK AND POST UP AND COMMENT ON THE SOUND WHEN THAT HASNT BEEN COMPROMISED AND THE GUNSHOT ARENT REPLACED AND EDITED MAKES ME SAD. I DID FIGHT FOR THE SOUND , BECAUSE PUTTING MEANINGS IN YOUR VIDEOS, IN MY OPINION IS A DYING ART. I CAN FILM MY SELF ANYWHERE ANYTIME AND LET YOU KNOW THE TRUTH , BUT THE SONG IS WHAT I WANTED TO PRESERVE IN THIS CASE.

New Music Video - The Killers -"Tranquilize"
If your a Killers fan then you have no doubt already heard this great song with Lou Reed. it's got us excited for their B-Sides and Rarities album "Sawdust" out on November 13th. The video goes well with the songs haunting vocals, we just can't get over Brandon Flowers' Mustache. He looks like a seventies porn star!

Music Video - Liars - "Houseclouds"
The Liars follow up the success of their first single "Plaster Casts Of Everything" with their new video for "Houseclouds" directed by Sonny Gerasimowicz. The video finds the guys set up against a white screen with each other and in several interesting positions with some kitties. We had a hard time watching the video and not thinking of pedophiles and bestiality but the singles good and we don't have to look at the video when we're rocking out to the CD.

Interview - The Pharmacy
We manged to catch up with Seattle pop-punk rockers The Pharmacy after their set at the EMP Sky Church during Bumbershoot and talk about everything from the Sky Church's Psychedelic backdrop to Rembrandt's b-sides. The band recently got done with a seventy plus date tour and are currently working on finishing their second album while still managing to play a few local dates. This bands love for amusement parks really shines through as they are not only fun and exciting to see live but talk to as well. GN: How long have you guys been together?
Scottie: Ryan and Stefan have been playing with us for the past year but Brendhan and I have been playing music since we we're like sixteen so about five years now. We started playing shows and touring in 2003.
GN: Is this your first time at Bumbershoot?
Scottie: It's our first time playing.
GN: How was it?
Scottie: It's really Psychedelic. The lights were intense.
GN: What did you think about that giant screen?
Scottie: I couldn't really look at the screen
Stefan: I was trying to match up the keyboard parts with the screen. I tried really hard.
Ryan: I think there were giant anime creatures being projected behind us.
Brendhan: It was like watching a computer screen, like watching Itunes.
GN: It seems that your music covers a wide spectrum, where does that come from?
Brendhan: I think we started out as a Ska band right.
Scottie: No not really, that was like the second wave of The Pharmacy. First we were like a garage rock band. It's kind of hard to keep track of what music style we are. it's hard to think about.
GN: Where do you guys draw most of your influence from?
Brendhan: Nirvana, Electric Light Orchestra, The Beatles.
Scottie: Moldy Peaches
Brendhan: On Tour we always go together to theme parks and we're always at the top of the roller coaster together and we like our music to represent that feeling when we're all going down.
GN: Have you ever been on this ride here?(pointing to The Booster.)
Stefan: Yes I have it's so great!
Scottie: One time Stefan spent Seventy dollars on that ride.
GN: So you guys have an album out right now?
Scottie: Yeah we record an album and it came out about two years ago. We've been in the middle of recording. We've been touring so much this year it's been hard to finish the new one.
GN: Who did you guys tour with this year?
Scottie: This year we pretty much booked our own tour. We toured with Totally Michael for a little while.
Ryan: We toured with different friends we have around the country for little blocks.
GN: So there is a new CD in the works?
Scottie: Yeah, we've been recording it for about eight months or so, off and on.
GN: When can we expect to see that?
Scottie: By the end of year.
GN: You guys are all from the same area?
Scottie: yeah, we're all from Vashon Island but Ryan's from the Tri-Cities.
GN: Are there any bands you guys are excited to see tonight?
All: Tiny Vipers!
Stefan: Scott and I work with Jesy.
GN: We always ask the bands what some of their guilty pleasure songs are?
Scottie: I like eighties Paul McCartney.
Brendhan: I like The Knack. They sing "My Sharona," they have some really cheesy songs.
Ryan: I like The Waitresses actually.
Scottie: The Rembrandts. Every one knows them for the "Friends" song but they've got a lot of really cool b-sides.
Brendhan: I used to really like that Shaggy song "It wasn't me"
Stefan: We actually ripped off a few measures of that on "My Friends."
Brendhan: Yeah the dub breakdown. We recorded it backwards.
You can catch The Pharmacy at the Reverb Festival October 6th and look out for the yet to be titled album coming out later this year.

Kanye West ft. T-Pain "The Good Life" Music Video
Kanye May have crashed Justice's European VMA win last year, but from the looks of the video for "The Good Life" he seems to have taken some inspiration form their "D.A.N.C.E." video. Regardless the video is hot. Check it out below and then Gander On for the Justice video for comparison.

Dyme Def rocked Bumbershoot this year and now their giving us a video for "Three Bad Brothaz" which in our books has one of the hottest samples of the year. Seattle hip-hop is on the rise and these boys are a big reason why.

Bumblebeez - "Dr. Love"
Arjan Writes pointed us to this sweet video for Bumblebeez "Dr. Love." It's got some sweet dance moves and if you've seen the video for Justice's "D.A.N.C.E." they use the same effect but this time the actors aren't wearing any shirts.
