These kids from npsh showed a tough nyc crowd a party. In the beginning, the audience didn't know how to respond bu by the end the whole crowd was either dancing, bouncing or clapping alon to "ice age babeland."

After hiding from the rain for a whole during Matt Costa's signing in the Virgin tent, I decided to brave the weather and check out Cat Power. She's on the main stage sounding soulful as always. She doesn't look as hot today though.

The good thing about this festival is that you get to listen to amazing music and then turn around and look at an incredible view - the NYC skyline and the Statue of Liberty all lit up. You really can't beat that while a live version of "In Rainbows" is the soundtrack to you visual. Too bad I forgot my camera...I hope some company or at least Radiohead is fillming this.
I do realize now, enduring this long day that the US has too many festivals - especially multi-day ones.

Rapper K'naan from somalia is wrecking the stage right now with his clever politically charged lyrics. I doubt many folks here know him, but they are defintely digging him now.
Weather is nice and sunny today with a breeze coming off the river - it's nice.
The vip area isn't very dope here, but its also a good thing keeping people from hanging back there and forcing them to check out the bands. Oh yeah another state park regulation, beer only no hard alcohol....

Bad news at this festival...since its a state park only 5 beers are allowed. They give you a wristband with 5 tabs and that's your alottment for the day.

These boys from Leeds, Your Vegas are undiscovered and some mainstream media outlet need to turn folks onto these guys. They just opened up the festival with an amazing 40 minute set. Check out their song "troubled times"
Sidenote: APW is a small version of Coachella, only 3 stages and I feel like bands and artists get longer sets - which is much better

Great day for a festival here in the NY area. Waiting in line to get on the Ferry to head to Liberty State Park, and I'm not noticing that many hipsters waiting with me...maybe they'll show up later in the day. I hope I make it in time to catch Your Vegas.
