More Tasteless Advertising from Saatchi and Saatchi

Saatchi and Saatchi the advertising company behind the Shocka feat. Honeyshot entitled "Style, Attract, Play" advert single that was being played on KISS and other radio stations a few weeks ago has now disgusted me even more. In a new Advertising Campaign for Doc Martens the company has depicted four dead rockers wearing Doc Martens in heaven to send the message that Doc Martens are made to last. The musicians depicted are Kurt Cobain, Sid Vicious, Joey Ramone and Joe Strummer. I can tell you I won't be buying a pair of Docs anytime soon, or as long as this tasteless ad campaign is in existence. Gander on for the rest of the pictures.

Advert Single Banned

A song by Shocka feat. Honeyshot entitled "Style, Attract, Play" has been banned by Radio ! after finding out it was an advertisement for Shockwave hair styling products.

The group created by the advertising firm Saatchi and Saatchi. The title of the song is the same as the current advertising slogan for Shockwave. A radio 1 spokesperson had this to say.

"The track was presented to Radio 1 in the usual way, via a legitimate promotions company and we were not award that it was a promotional tool for a hair product.

"As this is created by an advertising agency with the sole purpose of selling this product, and we do not play adverts, it is not something we would play again."

The latest in advertising trickery. I ahev to say it was a great idea but when your not upfront about things you tend to be frowned on. The song was also played by XFM as well as KISS. Gander On!
